Apple Blossom and Pheasant Chinoiserie

Collared Pheasant and Apple Blossom on blue, wall mural by Frederick Wimsett

This is the best example of how a mural can solve some tricky design problems!  The wall itself was very tall (thank goodness I'm not afraid of heights!) and an extremely asymetrical shape.  Leaving such an expanse a blank white would be out of the question, prints or canvases would have looked strange, and wallpaper even stranger.  We chose to paint a massive twisting apple blossom, and pheasants to reflect the surrounding Cotswolds countryside on a lovely dark blue to give the mural a contemporary feel.
